Bal Harbour

Bal Harbour is a small, affluent village located between Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean in northern Miami-Dade County. With the ocean on two sides, Miami's barrier island beaches to the south, and just a step across the bridge to Florida's Haulover Park, when you're in Bal Harbour you're never far from sand and surf. Heading down Collins Avenue brings you through family-friendly Surfside, with all of the sophistication of South Beach just beyond.

Adding even more appeal to this beachside luxury lifestyle are shopping in oceanside boutiques and al fresco dining. Bal Harbour is home to Bal Harbour Shops, one of world's most lucrative shopping centers. If fashion is your thing, you're in luck here. From European to island to urban, all styles are represented at stores like Neiman Marcus and designer boutiques like Agent Provocateur, Bottega Veneta, Celine and Chanel (and that's just the beginning of the alphabet).

If you've shopped up an appetite, there's Bal Harbour's cuisine scene. There are several resorts and hotels from which to choose, and if you're looking for elegant dining you can do far worse than the Terrace Room at the Sea View or Mister Collins at One Bal Harbour. But don't overlook other options like Carpaccio for linguine at the Bal Harbour shops or Cafe Ragazzi in the town of Surfside just to the south. Art is part of life in Bal Harbour, too, with local galleries hosting cutting-edge photographers and artists and village retailers sponsoring evenings of music throughout the summer.
